Protocol Notes
Week 2–4: subtle increase in hydration and texture; some users report skin looks less “dull”.
Week 4–6: more noticeable elasticity and plumpness, small reduction in fine lines; nail strength often improves.
Week 6–8: clearer improvements in firmness, fine wrinkles, and overall smoothness; trials of collagen‑based complexes and carotenoids show strongest divergence vs. placebo here.
Optional:
- Combined skin formula providing collagen + vitamins A, C, D, selenium, biotin, etc., at standard RDA‑ish doses
- Vitamin E (10–50 IU) and selenium (20–50 mcg) for antioxidant support, both used in skin RCTs at modest doses.
- Oral sodium hyaluronate: ~100–120 mg/day; an 8‑week trial improved skin moisture in healthy adults.
Notes:
- Daily broad‑spectrum sunscreen SPF 30+ on face/neck/hands; UV negates much of the supplement benefit.
- Gentle cleanser; no over‑stripping surfactants.
- Moisturizer rich in humectants (glycerin, hyaluronic acid), barrier lipids (ceramides, cholesterol, fatty acids), and possibly niacinamide 2–5% for barrier and pigment.
